{Heart Parts} Chick Lessons

After a week of chick tending, I have learned a few things:

1) the main branch of the post office does process mail on Saturday and Sunday. And priority mail does not update when your package hits your city. A weak chick who arrives on Saturday and is picked up Monday may have difficulty turning around. (-1 chick)

2) pasty butt in baby chicks does actually occur and can kill them. Check all butts daily. (-1 chick)

3) Rollie pollies don’t stand a chance, even against week old chicks. (-5 bugs)

4) watch the chicks behavior, not just the temperature. They are hardier than you think (- heat lamps and cooling methods)
